The Saih Rawl gas field is located in Center Oman where PDO started operations in 1991 with a large gas Central Processing Facility ().. Then the natural gas is piped to the LNG Trains located at Qahlat for export and Sur Fertilizer plant.. After years of production the Saih Rawl gas field is maturing and losing a part of its natural pressure.. PDO invested $550 million in the Saih Rawl ...
Both fields came on stream mid 1999 when the Central Processing Plant (CPP) in Saih Rawl was ready to receive and treat the gas. Saih Nihayda field is deemed the next field in line to be developed, with an earliest start-up date of 1/10/2004. The first development wells for the field have to come on stream between 1/10/2004 and beginning 2005.

The new plant now has a capacity to handle 48 million standard cubic metres of gas per day. Saih Rawl is the largest gas field in Oman, but after 20 years of continuous production the field was maturing and the reservoir pressure had started to decline.
The plants which will be modernized are the Saih Nihayda Gas Plant (SNGP) and the Saih Rawl Central Processing Plant (SRCPP), located in the central part of the country, in the Omani desert, near the city of Qarn Alam, 35 km from one another.
The natural gas coming from the gas field is transported via pipeline to the Saih Rawl Gas Processing Plant. This industrial complex in the Omani desert requires a specific pressure on the plant side in order to further process the gas. At the start of the gas production process, the natural pressure in the gas field is sufficient to operate ...
The Saih Rawl Depletion Compression (SRDC) project is one of several initiatives launched by PDO to sustain gas flows from reservoirs that have been in production for several years resulting in a drop in reservoir pressure and includes the construction of a processing and a gas compression plant. Production from the Saih Rawl (SR) Gas Fields, which are the largest in PDO 's concession ...

Detail Design. The Saih Rawl CPP has been processing wet gas from two gas reservoirs, Barik and Miqrat in Central Oman since mid-1999. The facilities in CPP were originally designed for an export capacity of 40 MMSCMD of treated gas. The Company has initiated a separate project to de-bottleneck the existing plant to bring the export capacity to 48 MMSCMD.
